Horseshoe Bend Walking Trail Rehabilitation

Works were undertaken to rehabilitate a walking track that was severely impacted by recent flooding. The site is in a very remote and highly sensitive area. The site contains significant native vegetation and cultural heritage significance from previous gold mining activities. Works including the flowing activities;

  • Development and implementation of a Site Rehabilitation Plan
  • Relocation of a heritage artefact (an old engine) to a heritage museum in the town of Walhalla
  • Reinstatement of a previously excavated track to a natural walking trail
  • Placement of large wood and vegetation for instream and terrestrial habitat
  • Reinstatement of two river crossings
  • Access track and drainage repairs
