EcoProjects Australia is a leading environmental and water infrastructure contractor, specialising in waterway management, stormwater, public infrastructure and natural resource projects throughout Victoria, and South Eastern Australia.

We are currently seeking to fill a number of roles including Project Staff (fixed term with potential for extension), Leading Hand / Supervisor (permanent) to join our team. Positions will be mobile with a home base at either our Korumburra or Maidstone depots with frequent travel to project sites.

The Roles

Project Staff

Project Staff are involved in the delivery of works in a safe manner in accordance with project designs and Integrated Management System requirements. Project staff must be prepared to:

  • Maintain a safe work environment for themselves, other staff, clients and members of the public.
  • Work as part of a team with a focus on the delivery of a quality outcome for our clients.
  • Actively communicate with Supervisors and other staff about matters related quality, safety and environment.
  • Work in a wide range of outdoor environments and conditions.
  • Perform a variety of physical tasks including using hand tools, power tools and operate heavy machinery.
  • Work in environments where you may be exposed to heat, dust, water, high levels of noise.
  • Wear personal protective equipment provided
  • Travel to other parts of Victoria and interstate and work away from home for periods of time.

Leading Hand / Supervisor

As a Leading Hand / Supervisor, you will be responsible for the delivery of water and environmental projects across Victoria and interstate with limited supervision from the EcoProjects Project Manager.

This position would ideally suit someone who is a self-starter, experienced in waterway, stormwater and environmental construction and can lead a small team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Meet and regularly communicate with clients and EcoProjects Management to formulate work plans and review project delivery.
  • Deliver projects in accordance with project designs, contract arrangements and Integrated Management System requirements.
  • Commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for themselves, other staff, clients and members of the public.
  • Lead and coordinate project staff and subcontractors for the delivery of a quality outcome for our clients.
  • Actively communication with EcoProjects Management and other staff about matters related quality, safety and environment.
  • Skilled operation of heavy machinery and specialised construction equipment in highly sensitive environments.
  • Travel to other parts of Victoria and interstate and work away from home for periods of time.

Skills and Experience

We are seeking applicants with the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in delivery of successful projects within the NRM or civil construction sector.
  • Machinery tickets and experience operating heavy construction equipment in a range of contexts.
  • Civil construction or trade qualifications with proven field experience.
  • Experience with dealing with clients in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Construction induction, Level II First Aid, Traffic Management, Spotters, Heavy vehicle license would be advantageous.

In addition, Leading Hands / Supervisors will be required to demonstrate:

  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, whilst leading towards successful project completion.
  • Management and computer skills necessary to meet deadlines, provide reports and manage resourcing budgets.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate team members.
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of project designs.
  • Asbestos (friable and non-friable) and confined spaces accreditation would be advantageous.
